Renowned artist Don Conroy launched the Sightsavers Junior Painter Awards. This is the third year of the painting competition designed to help children understand the importance of their own sight through the accessible medium of art. Alkermes plc yesterday announced the establishment of it's corporate operations in Ireland, with new headquarters located in Dublin. The company, including it's headquarters and operations in Athlone has more than 450 employees based in Ireland and more than 1200 employees worldwide.

Miriam O’Callaghan was at the starting line as the 36 classic Triumphs, two Jaguars, a Porsche, a Lotus and two support cars with trailers full of spare parts set off from The Children’s Sunshine Home, Dublin on the first ‘Four Provinces In A Classic’ rally.

The Exhibition features the images Joe Woolhead captured when he rushed to the World Trade Centre on 9/11/2001 and documented what he saw. It also features iconic images of the rebuild which Joe has been officially photographing since the first cornerstone was laid in 2004.
Born and raised in Finglas, Dublin and living in New York for the past 20 years, Joe has worked with some of New York's premier photo agencies and has been published in the New York Times, Time Magazine, Esquire, The New Yorker, The Daily News and the New York Observer. For every accident free quarter (three months) achieved at any CRH company, a sum of money is donated to the Simon Community. The three-year partnership started in 2007 and at the end of 2009, CRH committed to extend the partnership for an extra year to help address homelessness in Ireland whilst encouraging CRH employees to improve their health and safety record.
